We have been plummeting through Phase 4 and crawling into Phase 5 but both have made one thing clear: Avengers: Kang Dynasty is coming. And while the focus has been primarily on the second part of that title, I want to shift to the first part and discuss the future of the Avengers team. Post-Endgame, our heroes all primarily went their own way and then we were introduced to many new heroes. So where does that lead our actual Avengers team? Let’s talk about it.

I want to begin with our established heroes and go individually on their possible fate in being an Avenger.

Thor: Maybe. If Thor returns, he will act as a leader for the team, however, with him now having a daughter, it is debatable whether he will join the new team up.

Clint: No. Hawkeye was his last shabang and he is officially retiring (also Renner’s accident has left him in a place where acting is on the back burner).

Ant-Man: Yes. Does this really need to be explained?

Wasp: Yes. Also, no need to explain.

Captain Marvel: Yes. She’s a powerhouse that deals with mega-threats, so when Kang comes calling, she will be there.

Spider-Man: Yes. He will return to the Avengers when he is called, without a doubt.

Strange: Yes. Likely a defacto leader, he will be at the forefront of half the problems due to who he is so he will need to be there to fix them.

Wanda: Yes. You’re crazy if you think she’s dead. She will come back and redeem herself.

Sam: Yes. Another likely leader, Sam was already an Avenger before and will join up when called.

Bucky: No. Bucky has already been named the de facto leader of the Thunderbolts, so it’s safe to say he already is claimed by a team.

Hulk: No. I think the Hulk will be going on his own journey, possibly with a World War Hulk or Planet Hulk storyline, so his time with the Avengers might be up.

Loki: No. While our Loki is obviously dead, the one from the Loki series, if we ever make it to our timeline, will definitely not make the cut for the Avengers. And that’s if he is even allowed to meddle, which he likely can’t.

Now onto our newer heroes.

Shang-Chi: Yes. 100% he is going to be an Avenger. He’s already talking to members of the team.

White Vision: No. Better answers are to come once VisionQuest takes place, but he’s pretty MIA right now.

Monica: Yes. If Carol is involved, Monica will be as well.

Kamala: Maybe. Kamala walks the line between being an Avenger and making the cut for the Young Avengers, so she could go either way.

Yelena: No. She’s on the Thunderbolts roster.

She-Hulk: Yes. I think she’s perfect to step into the place of ‘muscle’ on the team. She also already is connected to Wong, who might be her gateway in.

Kate Bishop: No. A likely candidate for the Young Avengers.

Moonknight: No. He’s a hero I think we will see work outside the usual groups. He might make the Midnight Sons roster instead.

Scarlet Scarab: No. Similar to Moonknight, she will work outside the usual groups.

America: No. A likely candidate for the Young Avengers.

Shuri: Yes. She will continue her brother’s legacy and will rejoin the team. She also has connections already to some of them so she would seamlessly fit back in.
