It would not be Let’s Talk: Marvel Fan Theories if we didn’t deliver on our main message, which is providing you with some theories to chew on as we enter the new year. But of course, not only are we entering a new year, we’re entering a new phase in the MCU, one that is expected to pave the way to some big storylines. So, let’s take a look at some of the biggest theories going into the new year and new phase.

1. The biggest one that has of course gained circulation again, especially recently, has been the possible return of Chris Evans and RDJ as their superhero counterparts in either Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. This one doesn’t appear to be that much of a stretch, considering both of those films play with multiple different universes interacting with each other, some of which I’m sure have similar versions of Cap and Iron Man. While this remains a rumor, I would not be shocked to see this one happen.

2. Another theory that runs with the two big films of the next phases as well is that it is Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s wedding that begins the events of Secret Wars. Weddings are events the MCU has been lacking, and they signify a great change in general. But, the most obvious reason is simply that weddings bring huge groups of people together in one place, and when it’s two superheroes getting married, you know who will make up most of the guests.

3. This theory might be a headache for those still recovering from the Infinity Stones whiplash. Still, the theory is rising that the Ten Rings and Kamala’s Bangle are multiversal Infinity Stones. While they won’t go by that name, of course, essentially they are what Kang is after, which ties in with that suspicious end-credit scene from Shang Chi that nothing else has addressed yet. Are they what ties all of the next two phases together?

4. Naturally, many of these theories are talking about Secret Wars, as that’s the big direction we are going in. Our fourth theory is no different, as it sets up our buddy Galactus. Pretty much, this goes beyond even Phase 6 by saying the events of Secret Wars and the cosmic and magical fights that will be taking place will leave Earth a mighty tasty snack for Galactus.

5. I saved my favorite theory for last. It goes like this: the team of Thunderbolts will go to Tiamut (the frozen Celestrial) in an attempt to gather Adamantium (similar to Vibranium). Tiamut’s Island will have been named Genosha, which is the home of mutants. In the comics, Tiamut’s emergence sends out a power signal that activates all sleeping mutant genes, creating mutants across the globe. If this already happened, then mutants are already here, and the Thunderbolts may be treading somewhere they don’t want to be. On top of that, one of their own will possibly turn against them once they reach the island as he begins to hear voices. Now, do you see why this is my favorite one?
