She-Hulk Episode 9

She-Hulk

The highs and lows of She-Hulk culminated in the season finale.

I say season because I think we got a weird form of confirmation that we are going to be getting a second season of She-Hulk. But more importantly, we got one of the most interesting season finales for Marvel TV that I think if you stare at too long you may just start to like a little less than you did before. I’m here for the risks it took, but we also have to look at it as a whole finale and what it did and didn’t bring to the table. Before I get into the details of it all, make sure you listen to the podcast episode, either by clicking the button below to find your listening platform of choice or by listening live by hitting play on the link provided.

Before the episode even officially began we got a little treat for those who know the OG Hulk show. Thanks to my dad who watched the old Hulk show regularly, I immediately recognized the entrance to the show. I theorize that the OG-Hulk entrance might be a way of showing the direction the Hulk family may be going after this show. I’m not saying the original Hulk actor will return, but the entrance might be a way of showing that Marvel isn’t worried about bringing back some old friends.

Moving to the meat of the episode, I’m going to split this into before the field trip, the field trip, and after the field trip, just to make it as easy as possible to follow. So let’s get into the part of the episode prior to our little adventure with Jen. I wasn’t surprised for a second that Jen was in jail, but I think it’s widely unfair considering she didn’t actually harm anyone, even if that is me just being a Jen apologist. Either way, we see once again what not having the Avengers and Tony Stark behind you looks like in this post-Endgame world and the repercussions for the enhanced. Yet beyond all this, what got me heated was that Jen lost everything once again because she is She-Hulk, bringing the show full circle. Poor girl seems to be one of the few heroes that society does not put on a platform when it comes to consequences.

Everything culminates to the point where we learn that Todd (aka the loser dude Jen went on a date with) is Hulkking, Abomination and Hulk start their rematch and Titania crashes in for her 5 seconds of fame. All sounds good, right? Not at all. I’m really glad we end up on the field trip, which we’ll get to in a moment because this finale was not doing it for me. But in reality, even with the field trip, I’m still disappointed in how things went. I thought Todd being the Hulkking was extremely disappointing, and not just because we theorized something entirely different. I just think we finally could’ve had some huge repercussions from a show and instead had a write-off. Todd being Hulkking just felt so blah, like we were going up a rollercoaster, getting ready for the big fall, and then we never actually have a drop. Hulk coming in to save the day, as Jen even points out, felt so random and him facing Abomination after what seemed to be a round of forgiveness on both ends was just awkward. Then lastly, I have been pretty vocal about how I felt Titania was wasted in this show, and this final episode really solidified that in my opinion.

Let’s get into probably one of the most iconic moments in MCU TV history (and what I think saved this finale), which was our field trip into the metaverse. She-Hulk quite literally broke the fourth wall so hard that she popped out of her show, traveled through Disney+, and went into real-time to fix how wonky her show was getting. And I think we can all agree one of the best parts of it was the fact that they had a droid named K.E.V.I.N. calling all the shots. But because of this very fact, this means that even the Assembled universe can’t be ours, right? Obviously Kevin Feige the person exists in our universe, not an AI version. I don’t want to cause any headaches but I think this confirmed a whole other universe altogether writes the Marvel content…but jeez I can feel the headache coming on from thinking too much about this.

What was really great about the field trip and the conversation Jen had with K.E.V.I.N was that she called out the Marvel formula that we have all discussed in length, especially these past few months. Jen wasn’t going to stand to have her show fall to the same thing, which is extremely cool at how self-aware she is, and stressful that I have to think what half of that means. But she also sat and asked some great questions, like when the X-Men might come, which proves that the sole purpose was truly to show how aware Marvel is of everything we do and say about them. That sounded way more ominous than I anticipated, but it’s true. Time and time again this series proved Marvel listens to us a lot more than I think we realized and now they’re throwing that right back to us.

Returning to the show (literally), I was pretty upset that everything was sort of wrapped up. I describe to Taylor on the podcast that it felt like someone forgot to tell me the commercial was over and now I missed a whole section of the show. It didn’t feel like we really got a conclusion or climax to the story, which really sucked. That’s why for me this finale was definitely not my favorite, even with the fourth wall break, because beyond that there wasn’t really much of a finale.

Besides the fact we got Daredevil to come back in this episode and it seems the relationship he shares with Jen will be just solid enough to give her a guest spot on his future show, the last big thing we have to cover is Bruce’s return with, ah, his son. As promised in the podcast, here’s the history of Skaar. Hulk, as we know spent time on Sakaar battling his way around. While there, at least in the comics we aren’t positive of the whole background in the MCU, he falls for a woman named Caiera and she becomes pregnant. She is killed and Hulk returns to Earth, not aware that his child lived. The child grows up fatherless until he eventually makes his way to Earth for revenge on the father who he thought left him. Obviously, we know this doesn’t seem to be exactly where the MCU is going, as the two of them are on some father/son adventure and meeting the family. It is important to note, however, that Skaar, like his father, can return to a human form, so it will be interesting to see if this holds true for the MCU Skaar.

The final piece of this puzzle is that with Skaar’s arrival and the recasting of General Ross (later to become Red Hulk) by Harrison Ford, it seems pretty possible our future lies either in Planet Hulk or World War Hulk. We are talking about roughly 5 (since Red Hulk is still rumored) gamma-effected beings on the table, so these storylines shouldn’t be too surprising to hear being rumored. Keep an eye out for more Hulk-related Marvel announcements, which I think we will be seeing come in the next few months.

That’s all I’ve got about She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As the show seemingly confirmed, we may be seeing the second season of this character and I can say I wouldn’t be against that at all. It definitely went in a new direction, even if I didn’t always love what we were getting. She-Hulk is still a pretty solid MCU show and I am excited for her future in the MCU and where she will fit among other heroes. We are hoping you guys kept up with She-Hulk and stayed along for the ride since this is our last MCU show of this year already. But don’t worry, we will be spending three weeks covering Black Panther: Wakanda Forever so get your tickets and get ready, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Episode 8

She-Hulk

We may have just witnessed one of the best Marvel TV show episodes so far.

From start to finish, this episode was absolutely perfect. It didn’t miss with everything we saw and it kept me dedicated to it the entire time. Not once was I worried about how much time was left, I was just enjoying every second. But let’s not skirt around the elephant in the room, which is Daredevil making his official appearance finally in She-Hulk. We will get into this and the big ending in a moment, but right before we do, make sure you guys are checking out our full podcast episode. You can listen on your platform of choice by hitting the button below or start listening here in live time by clicking the play button on the link provided.

Let’s get right into talking about one of the biggest parts of this entire episode which was the appearance of Daredevil himself, Matt Murdoch. I knew as soon as Luke didn’t have a lawyer that Matt would be making an appearance and I have to say it feels good to know I was right that these two would originally meet in court. It was just too fitting and I mean, probably would have been one of the biggest misses ever if Marvel didn’t do it. But honestly, what we got after that was just a treat.

Obviously, we speculated a little about the relationship that She-Hulk and Matt would have, as the trailer revealed some flirtiness and the fact that she would face him both as Matt and as Daredevil. But in no way did I think Jen would end up unmasking him, the two of them would take down Leap Frog together, then go back to Jen’s and, well, do it. Honestly, I absolutely loved it. There are so many ways this shouldn’t have worked and so many ways it should’ve and I was living for everything Marvel gave us. I really, really hope now that the rumors of Jen appearing in Daredevil: Born Again are true, since their relationship made it much further than I could’ve ever imagined it would.

Really quick, I want to talk about the two little Easter eggs we got during this episode, which took place about 5 seconds apart from one another. One, we got a reference to Wolverine with Nikki and the make up brushes, which seems even more fitting since we have gotten the confirmation that Hugh Jackman is returning to the role in Deadpool 3. The second was a reference to Red Hulk, who has been rumored to be coming for quite some time, and as the Hulk family expands, has some good chances of making an appearance soon.

Before I get into the final part of this episode, I need to get something off my chest. TEAM CAP FOR THE WIN!! Okay, so I had to say that but the reason I do is because we received confirmation that the Accords have been repealed. Obviously, that means that they were found to not be helpful or didn’t work or honestly, I don’t know, but either way the government repealed the Accords. For those who receive our newsletters (which you can sign up for here), you’ll know I covered who was right in Civil War and went in depth on what the Accords actually had included. I gave the Accords to Cap, looking only at the facts of the matter. Anyway, my whole point is do any research on the Accords and it makes sense as to why they were revoked and it will be an interesting path forward with this knowledge, especially because we pegged the DODC for upkeeping the Accords. But if they are gone, what is the real job of the DODC?

I’m not going to get too far into the details of the ending, as Taylor and I pretty passionately talk about it in the full podcast episode. But what I will say is the bigger repurcussions of Jen losing control of the Hulk will finally paint her as the one thing this show hasn’t been able to and that is someone who can lose control. From the beginning Jen had more control over her Hulk form, until mysoginistic men went for the low blow of releasing a sex tape that she didn’t even consensually make. I won’t get heated here in this blog post, but I think listening to the podcast y’all know pretty much how I feel. This series conclusion is going to be a big turning point for Jen, as people are going to now look at her as the monster she can be, just like how they looked at Bruce for a very long time. I’m anxious to see who the cowards behind the masks really are and how or if we get a full conclusion to this chaos.

I once again will reiterate that I adored this episode and it is one of the best Marvel show episodes I’ve seen. I hope the conclusion to this show gives exactly what this episode did. Yes, I did say conclusion, as we are working our way fast to the last episode of She-Hulk. This brings us to the end of Marvel TV for the year, leaving us with just one more piece of content, which is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As usual, make sure you are keeping up with this content, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk: Episode 7

She-Hulk

Here we go again.

I say this in a positive sense, as I felt that this episode gave me what I think was missing from the past 3 episodes. I can’t put my finger on exactly what, but the enjoyment I got from this episode matched how I felt when the show first began, and so I think it’s safe to say that we are going to have a relatively solid ending to this show. I mean, let me finish the show first before I put the cart before the horse, but I have high hopes. Anyway, this episode furthered several plotlines for us so before we get into talking about the extent of this episode and where it leaves us, make sure you listen to our latest podcast episode in its entirety. You can do so by clicking the button below to find your listening platform of choice or playing it live right here by hitting play on the link provided.

Phase 4 has done a really good job with giving us villains that we either can sympathize with or can see their sides of the story. We see a lot more of their redeeming qualities and I’m not only talking about villains that came in Phase 4, I mean in general. Emil (Abomination) is a solid example of this. If you told me even 6 weeks ago that I was going to sympathize and genuinely start to enjoy Emil’s character, I would likely have laughed at you. But this episode drove home my newfound love for this character and that I have a deep appreciation for who he is trying to be now that he is out of prison. He’s hilarious, of course, but he also is trying to help others in the process of being better himself. I find his redemption honestly inspiring and I hope we get to see plenty more of him moving forward. I’m just happy that we aren’t just left with the version of him we saw in 2008.

Obviously a huge topic of this show has been Jen and her ability to break the fourth wall. This episode she did it in a way that changed the whole narrative. If you have ever taken part in a choose your own path game or book (think Life), then you know the whole basis of it is that you choose what you want to do to keep the story going. Jen broke the wall during the middle of the episode to give context to a character we didn’t necessarily remember and it felt like I was choosing my path. I was genuinely thinking who the heck is this guy and Jen was like “don’t worry, I’ve got you”. I loved it because how many times have you had to look someone up or go back to another part of the episode/book whatever and remember. Jen let us choose our path to remember this guy and once again reiterated how this show is just reading us nonstop.

I know we all got a good laugh during the therapy group session and I have to say, having a group of men who will drop anything and go to war for you 5 seconds after meeting you sounds pretty good to me. I think for Jen, this was needed on so many levels. Here were enhanced individuals (or they think they are) who are battling their own problems and can give her an outsider’s perspectives on what she is battling so deeply with. I’ve been talking for weeks now about Jen’s battle with being Jen and She-Hulk and how she only gets certain things when she is She-Hulk. It was great that she finally talked through this, especially with individuals who could understand her and would find sympathy. This group of odd balls were exactly what Jen needed at just the right time. It makes me excited to see what her revelation this episode sets up for the remainder of the show, as I think that plotline has relatively wrapped up.

For out female fans, say it with me: We don’t like or trust J-names. If Jen had listened to that, she wouldn’t be in this dilemma, but unfortunately she didn’t. Now it seems that the person behind it all has gotten what they wanted: Jen’s blood. Of course, we have a whole breakdown of our theory behind it being the Leader from our last episode and blog, which you can read here. That means there isn’t much more to talk about other than the fact that now Jen has some cleaning up to do. On top of that, I think we might have a weird chain of connection coming, or at least in theory. Going back to our time of theorizing about Kingpin, I’m starting to wonder if Kingpin is working with the Leader to get the blood. The Leader is notorious for being secretive in the MCU, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in kahoots with someone who has the easy ability to have people do their bidding. This could be a great way for Daredevil to come in and maybe he even returns Jen’s blood. Just a thought.

This was a great episode and it has me ready to go for the final two. We also have Wereworlf by Night coming this week, which we will do a short episode to cover as well. This means that this week you should keep an eye out for two epiodes from us and of course two pieces of Marvel content as well! I say all this to make sure you guys keep up with all of the MCU new releases, along with our own, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Episode 6

She-Hulk

There’s more to Episode 6 than meets the eye.

Episode 6 of She-Hulk gave us a lot and nothing at the same time. I will be the first to own up to the fact that I’ve been saying that something more is coming for the past two weeks, and I know I can’t keep saying it. I do hope that Episodes 7-9 will pick back up, just because I do greatly enjoy the show. In my opinion, the show did an amazing job balancing being a sitcom-style show and an MCU show in the first three episodes, which set certain precedence. Then episodes 4-6 have seemingly shied away from that balance and have emphasized more the sitcom aspect, which would’ve been fine if I didn’t have the first three episodes set up a different way. However, one thing Episode 6 did do was eventually come around because the last few minutes of the episode blew open the show all over again. It actually ended very much like how the second episode of WandaVision did and it reignited that MCU aspect of the show all over again. We have a great debate on where these final moments may take us on the latest podcast, so make sure to take a listen! You can click the button below to find your podcasting platform of choice or listen live right now by hitting play on the link provided.

Let’s begin by talking about the B-plot of this episode, which was alright in my opinion. I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, it sort of was just there for me. But it did add one thing to the bigger MCU that many may not have realized: we’ve now seen our first mutant (discounting Kamala and Wanda as those were weird reveals). Mr. Immortal is a mutant and he opens the doors to questions that include how many other enhanced individuals are out there and how many mutants are there? Up until now, most enhanced individuals were recruited by the Avengers and if they weren’t with them, they were usually with whatever bad guys opposed them. But Mr. Immortal proves that we have had mutants around for a while, as he has been pulling his shenanigans for years and wasn’t on any team or radars (that we are aware of). We have been saying the mutants are coming, but the irony of it all is that they are 100% already here.

This ‘Just Jen’ episode was still enjoyable in the sitcom realm and I honestly really enjoyed the bridesmaid storyline. I thought it was once again a humanizing storyline, even if it was a little slow. The action really came when Titania made herself at home at the wedding and then provoked Jen into fighting her. I was excited, I was ready, and that She-Hulk kick that screwed up the whole ground knocking Titania back was perfection. And then it was over after about 2 minutes. Obviously, the ending of the episode very clearly shows that Titania is no longer the main villain, but I have to say I’m tired of her getting absolutely sidelined. It almost makes her storyline feel awkward and disjointed and now the question comes of if she will return again in the series or if that is the last appearance. I desperately want a real She-Hulk/Titania fight, is that too much to ask?

Let’s change the narrative a little to the darker aspect of this episode. As fans, we see people bash the heroes and even sometimes the actors/actresses who play them. We’ve seen some people be hateful and cross lines. At the end of the day, we all know we might not love a character or even a certain actress but we wouldn’t ever imagine saying some things we have seen others say. But this episode blew that aspect open all over again, calling out the fact that there are people who are immensely hateful and who want the worst to come to others. It almost, honestly, broke the fourth wall in its own way, as we as fans can relate so heavily to seeing this stuff. Not to mention, it all once again shows us another aspect of being a hero, a side we didn’t see as much before. That is what I love the most about this show. I am seeing what it would be like for any normal human being to suddenly have powers and have to live with this major life change and the consequences. I genuinely put it very high on my list of things I have loved about the new phase of the MCU.

Going off of this, the series clearly took a dark turn with the last few scenes and so let’s talk about how far the series might go. Up until now, I would say it was pretty sunshine and rainbows. But clearly, this is taking a turn and I would say it could be pretty fitting since we are also getting Daredevil, who is a little bit of a darker character, later in this show. How dark could this go? Well, we are about to get into some wild theories that could maybe make this show part of darker storylines.

We have two running theories, one much more likely than the other but both worth spending some time chewing on. Before I get into it, I do want to note that our Kingpin theory isn’t off the table, but we do have some thoughts that are a little more likely. Our best running theory is that the boss might be the Leader, aka Samual Stern, someone who should be a familiar name in the Hulk world. Samual Stern was teased to be becoming the Leader way back in the Incredible Hulk (I know, I know), but what makes it all come together is that he was just named the villain in the next Captain America film. I remember thinking it was a little strange we were getting the villain named in a movie that barely started filming, but I think that the repercussions of this show, or if he gets Jen’s blood, could be a connection or direct setup for Cap 4. He also is a part of Intelligencia, which is the sketchy web page that we saw in this episode. There seem to be a lot of hints pointing fingers at our seemingly long-forgotten friend.

Theory two is a little loose in regards to holding up on its own. The problem with this theory is, well, super soldiers. Way back, we learned Bruce tried to replicate the super soldier serum and had an accident that resulted in the Hulk. So, who has super soldier serum destroyed and has been pardoned by the US government? Why, the Powerbroker aka Sharon Carter. Running with the thought of her being behind it all, she may want Jen’s blood to have a version of this serum, as Hulk’s blood is sorta a super soldier serum, just not perfect. This could then have set up Thunderbolts, with her as their villain. Now, I think Sharon may be the Thunderbolts villain, but the big pin in the balloon came when Taylor and I really talked about the Thunderbolts and realized they have three super soldiers on the team, two with perfect serums running through their veins. Why go with a Hulk’s blood when you could get perfect serum right from the source? Regardless, we should still keep her as a possibility, as she could be up to something far worse.

We might be on quite the turn for She-Hulk and I’m anxious to see what’s around the corner. We only have 3 more episodes left before we conclude the final show of 2022 (already, I know). As a reminder, we have Werewolf by Night coming as a special presentation and also one more film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so the year isn’t over just yet. Remember to subscribe to our newsletter as well and continue to follow all of Marvel and our content, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk: Episode 5

She-Hulk

She’s getting suited up and ready.

We are officially halfway through She-Hulk (yay or nay depending on how you feel about the show). I think things might be heating up between the two strong women of the show and we still have an underlying story of somebody wanting Jen’s blood. We also got a pleasant little nod to a character coming our way and if you didn’t stick around for the credit drawings, some Easter Eggs for other Marvel characters. Pretty much, we have a lot to talk about because this episode seems to be setting some big things up, both for the show and possibly the larger MCU. Before I get into it all, make sure you are listening to the podcast episode that is linked below. Listen in live time or click the button to find your podcast listening platform of choice!

So we got the return of Titania (full-time) this episode and I think we have been promised a great rivalry that is going to continue outside of the courtroom. I did theorize that we will start to focus more on the superhero aspect of She-Hulk in the second half of the show. With this narrative, we will be seeing the fighting with Titania likely intensify, which Titania made sure to tell She-Hulk near the end of the episode. I’m excited to get this storyline, as I have loved the show’s different approach at episodes so far, but would like to feel a little bit more direction with this plotline specifically. As the newest trailer revealed, we will be getting a good fight scene between Jen and Titania at some point, which is exciting. What will be the thing I find most interesting is what Titania’s fate will be after all of this. She’s an enhanced beauty influencer, probably one of the funniest villains for Marvel to ever create on the scale of WTF. Will she end up in jail? Or will we see her again? I guess first we need to see her more in the actual show to find out but it’s all good questions to ask since we know Jen is gonna kick her butt.

We talked last week about the possibility of seeing more of Jen’s inner struggle with becoming She-Hulk, a struggle her cousin overcame once he integrated his halves. Obviously, this is a little different for Jen, as she is always technically Jen, just sometimes she’s small and curly-haired and other times she’s green. But either way, this seems to be a struggle she is having regardless and it continues to play out in Episode 5. Personally, this episode seemed to emphasize it even more in my opinion, as we see that Jen is now fighting to keep the She-Hulk name. She is accepting being She-Hulk, rather than She-Hulk being something that happened to her. So I find it really fitting this court case over the She-Hulk name happened halfway through this series. It only legitimizes my thoughts of this being a huge turning point for the show and makes me think we are heading down a different alley in the last four episodes as Jen accepts her other half more and more.

In this latest podcast episode, Davis brought up a great point about where the heck the Wrecking Crew is. I feel like we were distracted by Titania, then the Wrecking Crew, then Titania again and it makes me wonder where our other possible foes are. I think that might be a complaint I am forming, that the antagonists of the show feel a little disjointed, at least for now. Maybe that’s just me being unsure of the direction in which the show is moving as we are now more than halfway along. I would love to figure out if we are looking at two foes or two different faces of the same enemy. This goes all the way back to the episode in which the Wrecking Crew appeared, as we theorized on the boss behind Titania and the Wrecking Crew. But as we see more of Titania, I think we have two different stories being told, one surface level and one a lot more serious and could have bigger implications for the MCU. I’m not going to back down on Kingpin making an appearance, whether by name or what, in this series. Someone wants Jen’s blood and they definitely don’t want it for something good.

I know the news on Daredevil has been mentioned already by us, so I won’t go into that too in-depth here, but we do have to talk about him making his appearance in this show. In this episode, we got the first look at his new helmet and the first little hint of his appearance being on the way (even though we all knew he was going to be here eventually). I did hear a little rumor that he wouldn’t actually show up until Episodes 8 or 9, which is just a rumor, but I say this to not get anyone’s hopes up of seeing him next episode. Regardless, I found it funny that part of his reason for coming to LA is to pick up his superhero costume, and if you could see me right now you’d see me smiling just at the thought of it. Yet it feels very on brand for this show and it will be exciting to see the relationship he builds with Jen in his appearance and what this new version of Daredevil is going to be like.

I leave us asking the question of all questions: did Marvel lowkey just confirm some superheroes in the end-credit images? Don’t worry, I have provided the image for reference.

I won’t waste everyone’s time with who is there, but I will point out the ones that shouldn’t technically be there, at least not with our current MCU. I’m talking Deadpool, Cyclops, Nova, and Ghost Rider. This is now the second reference from this show we’ve gotten for Ghost Rider, just to remind everyone. So should we be looking for announcements about these guys soon? Well, the mutants have sort of been ‘coming’ for ages now and Deadpool many have already prepared themselves to officially enter the MCU. Ghost Rider has also been talked about ever since Blade was confirmed. So…I guess yes and no? Theoretically these sneakers just mean they all already exist, which could be a timeline issue to reference in the future (that I’m politely going to avoid now).

All in all, while the episode itself was enjoyable, it definitely felt like a filler episode, as I felt Episode 4 did as well. I have faith in it setting up a lot more in the last four episodes, so we will just have to hang in there and see. As we begin to close out September, make sure to sign up for our newsletter in order to get all the great extra content from us to you on the first of every month. She-Hulk Episode 4

She-Hulk

This episode very much might be the set-up for something bigger.

While we are both loving She-Hulk, Episode 4 certainly wasn’t quite as exciting as the rest of the episodes have been. But this makes me think we are gearing up for something huge in the next episode. Not to mention, post-Taylor and I recording our reactions to Episode 4, a trailer for the second half of the show dropped, which you can view down below. Seeing all this footage for the last 5 episodes reinvigorates my belief that this episode was just a one-off to help prep the change in tone for the second half of the show. But before I get into all these thoughts, make sure you listen to the entire podcast episode by either clicking the link below or following the button to find your platform of choice.

The biggest thing that happened in this episode took place within the final minute. Titania is making her return to the show after being fairly quiet since the 30-second fight scene in Episode 1. While it wasn’t exactly a climactic return and we didn’t actually get to see her, it is safe to say that I imagine this Titania storyline is what will carry us through the rest of the series. Up until now, we have been getting one storyline per 2 episodes. Episodes 1 and 2 featured Hulk, 2 and 3 had the Abomination storyline, and 3 and 4 had Wong present and playing a pivotal role. Now that Jen is facing a direct legal threat (and likely a real threat very soon), I think that this formula might be broken to focus primarily on the trial that will likely come between her and Titania. We also know from the new trailer that they clearly get into at least one physical altercation, so I can imagine we will be having to focus mainly on this hero/villain dynamic.

Now that we are just about halfway through the series, it is safe to say we are going to be facing a turning point. This turning point is going to come on several fronts, including the one I mentioned before, but also that I think we are going to begin seeing more superhero She-Hulk. The first half of the series has put a really heavy emphasis on Jen (even in Hulk form). Jen partially resents being She-Hulk, as She-Hulk is what people want more than Jen. We have been seeing this struggle, along with Jen being a lawyer and trying to live her life as normally as possible. It is highly likely that after Episode 5, we will be seeing a higher acceptance level of She-Hulk and will be seeing her take on more of a superhero role. I’m 100% not saying the lawyer aspect is gone, but I think we will see a tone shift in which that will take a backseat to be a hero (which was also lowkey predicted by Jen in Episode 1). By the end of this series, Jen will likely have learned to properly integrate her two halves and the lives they live, ironically the same type of struggle her cousin went through.

Since this came up in the podcast as well, let’s get into Daredevil. Looking at the new trailer and the Daredevil news we have gotten, Daredevil is very likely to come within the next episode or two. What is really interesting is that he appears to possibly share his identity with Jen, as we see him both as Matt and suited up as Daredevil. Even better, the two share some flirty scenes that make my heart happy. I think Jen might bring him in to help her on the Titania case, or Daredevil shows up to help fight initially. Both are possible fronts now that we have this confirmation. It also is interesting that it seems Matt is trying to get Jen to essentially operate sort of like he does, with Jen being the boss in the court and upholding the law, but She-Hulk enforcing it. I believe he is only in one episode, but he seems to make quite an impact so I would hope we might see Jen appear now in the Daredevil show that is slated.

Additionally, something super important to note is that it was been said that the future Daredevil show will not pick up on the old one, instead, it is a new storyline. This means that the thoughts we had about Kingpin might be getting diminished, but also might somehow be getting the light shown on them. It is possible, if Kingpin is behind some of this in She-Hulk, that that will bleed into the new Daredevil and be the origin of their rivalry. We will have hopefully some more confirmation around these thoughts when Matt graces our screens, very soon. This news at least means that the likely reason for Matt showing up isn’t because he was following Kingpin and it might mean we won’t get full confirmation that Kingpin is or isn’t behind the attack on Jen.

There is also some news coming post-recording of She-Hulk Episode 4 but is important to things we have spoken about before. The Thunderbolts cast has been confirmed and Abomination doesn’t appear in the lineup. I have some thoughts on this and the main one is that I still wholeheartedly believe he will be there. The Thunderbolts have had many join their ranks in the comics, including Abomination, and don’t hold to the 6 member roster that the Avengers did for the first two films (Wanda, Pietro, and Vis were still latecomers). I think it is highly possible he will still be recruited as a part of the team, but as She-Hulk hasn’t finished and we have gotten more unseen footage of him in the new trailer, they may not have wanted to spoil his ending. It is very likely we are going to get Valentina recruiting him like she did John and Yelena and this is something they don’t want to step on. I am going to run with this theory since I truly don’t know why else he would have been brought back and let out of prison other than having a spot on the Thunderbolts roster.

Since this episode gave a little less in the form of theory-driven content, I have to assume it was a lead-up episode to something much bigger. I do expect more from Episode 5 because of this, but also all the news out of D23 has made quite some impactful conclusions on some She-Hulk characters. It makes me even more excited for what is coming in this show and where the second half will lead Jen, Matt, and Emil. There will be a special additional blog post covering some of the announcements from D23, so while I did mention some, a full list with thoughts and theories will be coming, so keep an eye out. Until then and until our next post covering She-Hulk Episode 5, keep up with all the content, since Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Episode 3

She-Hulk

So She-Hulk twerked with Megan Thee Stallion and people are mad about it?

Before we get into somehow the most controversial part of the entire episode and frankly, the whole episode at all, make sure you listen to our entire podcast episode which is linked below. There we explain everything in the most in-depth way and listening ensures that you aren’t missing out on a thing. Listen in real-time by clicking the play button on the link or find your listening platform of choice by hitting the button below. For now, let’s get into this mega-controversy over an extremely unproblematic end-credit scene.

I don’t think it is going to come as any surprise to you that I can confidently say Taylor and I loved the She-Hulk twerking scene. It was fun, lighthearted, and honestly took the edge off even more from some of the really serious things we have gotten lately. The narrative we’ve discussed a lot with this show is that Jen is being portrayed truly like us as working women. And I say this in the way that we see her working life and her balancing all this, along with just being a woman in this world. So yes, sometimes we blast Megan Thee Stallion and get down, just like She-Hulk, so why the backlash? Something that has been coming up a lot in these ongoing conversations is that if a character like Deadpool twerked on screen, everyone would be memeing it up and would love it. Additionally, keep in mind that characters like Starlord, who literally had a dance battle with Ronin, Zemo, who fist-pumped in the club, and even Groot, who danced in his little pot, were never questioned for their actions or being called cringe. If people have a problem with two amazing, powerful, and beautiful women throwing it back because their women, well, just say that.

One more thing I will say on this topic, and it’s something I mentioned in the predictions episode as well, is that She-Hulk is known for being exactly as she is, if not even more sexualized. And I don’t mean sexualized in general, although that is also true, I mean in the comics she was sexualized and chose to embrace it. She can be extremely erotic and while I never imagined for once Disney would allow some of the things she says or does in the comics, throwing in a clip of her twerking is definitely their way of making a nod to how the character is. I’ll say it again, She-Hulk is known for embracing the sexualization she was receiving and running with it, so let the show breathe a little on that end as they are holding as true as they can to her actual character without making the show an MA rating.

As many of you know, we figured we were getting our buddy Wong this episode and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Wong entering the chat was one of my favorite parts of the episode, just because of how funny the man is without even trying. The fact he admits to a federal crime and hits them with that ‘bye’ was just perfect. It also once again enforces that Wong has been pretty busy since becoming Sorcerer Supreme and is happy to show up anywhere. However, there is one thing that Wong’s appearance, and I should say, his dialogue, creates that now doesn’t quite sit right for either of us.

When Wong is explaining why Abomination was with him, out of prison, he says he needed a worthy opponent for his trials for becoming Sorcerer Supreme. Now you all know this whole narrative from Shang-Chi has haunted me for a year now because I just wanted to know why Wong and Abomination were fighting each other but then lowkey buddies afterward. Naturally, you should all be thinking that I have to be happy to have finally gotten my answer and you don’t know why I’m currently complaining. Let me get you all there. In No Way Home, Strange makes the comment that Wong got the title of Sorcerer Supreme on a technicality, which was that Strange had been “dead” for five years. Okay cool. But that implies Wong was not dusted and therefore took the title after the battle with Thanos in Infinity War. But then why would he have been just now, in Shang-Chi, going through some of his trials? One theory is that maybe there weren’t any worthy foes out there for him to fight, but that just feels really loose to throw this whole thing back on. Personally, something just isn’t quite adding up, since we were also told all of Phase 4 was post-Endgame and this is confirmed by Bruce being in a sling in the end credit of Shang-Chi. Food for thought.

We did get some confirmation from this episode, however, on the front of the timeline. We have now learned that She-Hulk is 100% after No Way Home and definitely before MoM, which also means we now know that it is confirmed those movies will not be switched on the timeline. I know this is something we discussed greatly around MoM and how the film felt like it should’ve been before NWH, minus the one Spidey reference made in it. She-Hulk has confirmed that NWH is before it, as Wong makes reference to wiping memory again, but he talks about Kamar-Taj and how beautiful it is this time of year. A reminder that my girl Wanda left Kamar-Taj in ruins, so it definitely wouldn’t be beautiful unless this show was prior to its destruction. We’re getting somewhere with this timeline, slowly.

Speaking of Abomination, look at this man getting himself out on parole. This 100% is setting him up for Thunderbolts, no doubt in my mind. But one thing I want to quickly address is how Emil was able to merge his two halves the same way that Bruce did and how this might affect him during the Thunderbolts. It’s no secret many people don’t love the way Hulk has been watered down, so doing the same with Abomination is going to give the same effect as well. I’m not saying to make him a full rampaging monster, but at least giving him Age of Ultrons Hulk’s ability to calm down would at least give us both sides. It’ll be really interesting to see if Marvel replicates the Hulk here, even though many fans are calling for the exact opposite. As for She-Hulk, I think Abomination still has some room in this show, although I’m not so sure he will continue to be the main plot either. She-Hulk definitely plays as the catalyst for his character to be re-exposed to the outside world and put him back on the map as a playable character.

If you were like me, when She-Hulk was attacked by the random construction crew, you were like okay who are these random dudes. But luckily we have a Taylor, who did some great research for us. The construction group is actually given the name the Wrecking Crew and they play some interesting roles in the comics with groups like the Midnight Sons and Thunderbolts (here we gooo). I won’t get too in-depth as Taylor explains them pretty well in the full episode, but in this show, they are likely to play the role of big bad’s cronies. I really want to get into actually what they wanted with her blood. I think the obvious answer is 100% that they want to make more Hulks, now that it seems so possible. Of course, we know that Jen is a Hulk due to certain genes she has that make her predisposed, just like Bruce. Not everyone will have this and so I think it’s safe to say that if they are successful, then we will have Abomination style science experiments running around.

The final thing I want to bring up in reference to this group is: who is their boss? I’m putting this here right now and going to say that it solidly is Kingpin. I’m sure you would make a lot of money selling Hulk blood or by creating your own monsters. Not to mention, I think that will be the thing that brings in Daredevil. Do I think we will get a Kingpin sighting? Not sure, since we left off on a cliffhanger with him in Hawkeye, so I feel like they might wait until Echo or even the Daredevil show to show him fully. Remember what I said about the timeline, especially when remembering that this show seemingly takes place closer to the Endgame cut-off than we may have thought. I say this to remind you that She-Hulk may be prior to Hawkeye, which would really solidify this theory.

Personally, this was another out-of-the-park hit for She-Hulk. The only complaint I have, which I saw no reason to dwell on before but don’t exactly feel right not mentioning is the CGI, but honestly, we all see it isn’t great and it isn’t worth wasting too much breath on. Hopefully, when She-Hulk hits the big screen these kinks can be worked out. Episode 4 comes out in two days so be prepared for some new chaos in the life of Jennifer Walters, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Episode 2

She-Hulk

So She-Hulk can get fired from her job, too?

Through the relatable ups and downs of this latest episode and the surprising path for a particular character being thrown our way, Episode 2 of She-Hulk has smashed into us with a lot to discuss. I’d say we got a good bit of everything from this latest episode and then some, adding to the excitement that this show is creating. I sit here, eat every second, and actively complain that I want more every time I finish an episode. With me saying all this, let’s get into talking about this episode, but make sure you guys check out below to listen to our latest podcast episode first!

I think that Jen is such a great character for the same reason we all fell in love with Kamala, which is that we find them extremely relatable. They’re essentially us if we ended up with superpowers and I think that’s one of the best storylines ever. I mean, Jen is actively living through real repurcussions of being a superhero, such as losing her job, territory we never really have touched before. Many times we see the heroes already as full-time heroes or they are special cases, like being a king or a billionaire or you know, a God. Honestly speaking, the most real we had in Phases 1-3 might have genuinely been Rhodey being an active military member. So I guess I’m trying to say in a long-winded way is that I really like seeing a different perspective on being a hero and how it doesn’t actually have all these benefits we have always been convinced it does. Even in relation to being an Avenger, Jen is sitting there asking about their benefits and real-world questions we would ask about any other job. You have to respect the girl for going there.

Not entirely sure what I expected when it came to Jen’s family, but I don’t believe it was that. I actually think a part of me was pretty surprised we saw her family, only because I’m so used to with Bruce not even batting an eye at the fact we don’t reference his family much. But out of everything we got from this episode, it was really interesting to see this family dynamic and how the family references Bruce and the Hulk. They may be lacking in some areas, but their ability to be cool about having now two Hulks in the family isn’t one of them. I would have loved to get a little more detail on who all the people at the dinner were and how they related to Jen and even Bruce, so that may be my one complaint. Other than that, I liked being able to see that Jen has the support of her family there (moreso her dad) and is able to handle this change with people on her side, rather than having to feel as if she needs to isolate like Bruce.

This next portion can’t be talked about without me giving credit to Taylor, who was right about the fact that the prison we saw in the trailers was in fact owned by the DODC. On the flip side of that, I will still defend my reasoning as to why I thought it wouldn’t be because up until now, it didn’t appear the DODC went after extremely high-level threats. I say this because their main targets were teenagers, not ex-military, form-shifting baddies. But here we are, the DODC being the responsible entity for holding the Abomination. It has been in my gut since their first appearance that these guys aren’t good and that there’s some sort of corruption, which is one thing I will stand behind until proven. I am starting to wonder if the DODC may be the responsible government body for enforcing the Sokovia Accords, although there are two issues with this theory. One, last time enhanced individuals went against the Accords, they were put on the Raft. Two, the Abomination would have to be grandfathered into the Accords rules, as his incident took place long before they were signed and this just seems a little strange to me. Either way, our besties have returned to be annoying and we should definitely continue to keep on eye on them.

Since he’s the talk of the episode, let’s zero in on Abomination. He’s officially made his appearance and is going to be a pivotal aspect of this show, as Jen is taking him on as a client. I want to really understand how he could be up for parole, since he helped to level a city. Yet on the other hand, I get it because Emil explained it all to me in the episode. He followed military orders, was doing his job, and came out a monster, while Bruce had an unfortunate accident, also skirted monster territory and is now considered one of the most important heroes. I didn’t think I would ever feel sympathy towards Emil, but I do. Regardless, it looks like we are finally going to get some answers on why he was fighting Wong in Shang-Chi in the coming episode. It also seems that this parole offer very likely might lead us to seeing Abomiation in the Thunderbolts, a theory we will continue to run with.

We can’t not talk about Wong, our Sorceror Supreme himself. His cameo seems to be set up for the next episode or episode 4. I assume Jen will likely bring him in and he will be the person to provide an explanation as to what he was doing fighting Abomination. I’m so ecstatic we are finally going to get this answer, since this has bothered me since Shang-Chi premiered and then bothered me even more once we got confirmation that Wong is Soceror Supreme. Let me just say, Strange definitely did some dumb things when he had the title, but Wong of all people participating in a fight club and being an accessory to breaking someone out of prison is shocking. Doesn’t mean I’m not super excited to have Wong expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Wong further, though.

I think I saved the most important part for last and that’s talking about Bruce. For one, I can’t in good faith go on without addressing the freaking hilarious reference to the fact that Hulk has been recasted. I genuinely sat there and cackled because I knew the joke was coming, but they really just drove it home. Anyway though, to get back to the big event, Hulk is now back in space. This is where we need to wonder if we are setting up something like World War Hulk or Planet Hulk. I think the Hulk character is finally going to have his moment coming up and this was Marvel’s way of setting this up. All this being said, he might make one more small cameo in this show, but I think we can sign him off officially and just have to wait patiently to see when he makes his next appearance.

All in all, another grand slam for She-Hulk. We’re hoping you guys are all enjoying this show and continue to stick around while we cover it all for you the remaining 7 weeks. We also have our September newsletter coming out in two days, so if you aren’t signed up for that yet you can sign up here. The newsletter addresses the controversial topic of who was actually right in Civil War, looking only at the MCU facts that we were given, along with some other great additional segments. Going forward, keep up with all the content coming from Marvel and also us, cause Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Episode 1

She-Hulk

She’s here and she’s taking names.

We have been introduced officially to Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s charismatic, fun-loving, sarcastic cousin. As a character, I can firmly say we adore her already and she has both of us sitting here waiting for the next episode of She-Hulk. Don’t get me wrong, we look forward to all Marvel shows, but when you have a character like Jen, you just always want more of that fun energy. We didn’t get a ton of footage in this first episode that we hadn’t already been exposed to in the trailer, so I think this also really adds to that want for the next episode. Before I get into what we did see in this episode, make sure you listen to the latest podcast episode to get all the raw content and reactions from She-Hulk episode 1. You can do so by clicking the button below to find your listening platform of choice or listening live right now by hitting play on the link!

Let’s get right into the episode by first saying how much I really enjoyed the break from the usual formula. We have gotten a ton of origin stories in Phase 4 and in the form of shows, along with four shows that were based on previously loved characters. I would say almost all of them followed the same sort of formula for the first episode and I loved that She-Hulk broke from that and instead showed a current Jen talking to us, then the flashback, and finally finished once again in the present. I think this helped to not feel that slow start to the show, which sometimes happens when we are watching origins (I think a great example of this was Ms. Marvel). It also means we won’t need to really sit through much of her figuring out her abilities since the show itself confirmed that it has been months since Jen first transformed into She-Hulk. Essentially, we got a summarised origin and will instead just get relatively normal superhero content, which is exciting.

I did already slightly say it but I love the fourth wall breaking in this show. It is very much in the spirit of Deadpool, but in the way that I’m sitting here feeling like I’m one of Jen’s besties. I feel like she’s here being like ‘let me catch you up on my crazy life since the last time I saw you’ and I’m sitting here like ‘go off’. All this being said, the style in which this is being done leads me to think it isn’t the same impact that Wanda breaking the fourth wall in MoM was, which is that we should possibly be concerned. This doesn’t mean that Jen’s fourth wall breaking doesn’t mean something chaotic is in our future, considering everything we learned about the Watcher and have witnessed in Phase 4 so far. I am intrigued to see whether this will continue when Jen finds herself with other Avengers and I also would love to know how she suddenly realized we were all here. She’s almost too self-aware, calling out the fact she’s in a show and that we are all sitting there watching her. It poses the question that if she can become aware of us as the audience, who else can?

Let’s briefly get into Bruce and Smart Hulk, since I know he was a really important topic in the predictions. I want to first say I think he will have a very small role moving forward in this show. Much of the footage we saw in the trailers was from their time together in Mexico, so I think it might be safe to say Bruce won’t be too big of a character after this first episode. This makes a lot of sense, as the episode is set up the way it is with the timing being a little different, as I brought up before. We got some confirmation about his arm and apparently about the fact that Hulk attracts alien spaceships as well. We also got some background about what he was up to during the time between Infinity War and Endgame and honestly it made me really upset that we don’t get more Bruce. I think him and his trauma are so glossed over in all the films that seeing him now and how he talks about his time as an Avenger is sort of just upsetting. I hope that maybe Jen might act as a positive outlet for him moving forward, especially now that Tony, Nat, and Steve aren’t around.

So speaking of Steve and taking the tiniest detour, I have to ask: is he still alive? Everytime he was referenced, it was in present tense, so a part of me does have to cling onto some hope that Steve may be just hanging out somewhere. We haven’t yet gotten full confirmation of his death, so I think we have to assume he lives. But Jen was really out here asking all the important questions and I have a lot of respect for the knowledge that she was able to pull from Bruce about Steve because it was top tier.

Prior to getting to the final little bit of this blog post, I also want to talk about Jen’s extremely important dialogue that I’m not sure I even need to give context to. Naturally, as two women in this fandom and who have a platform it’s something we won’t gloss over just as Marvel didn’t, for one of the first times. I think I speak for Taylor and I both when I say we were shocked they actually went there and showed the binary between Bruce being Hulk and Jen being a Hulk. And I think it is extremely important to be sharing that messaging because as someone who has been here awhile, we didn’t really see a lot of that in the earlier phases. As a woman, we didn’t even see many heroes for a long time who were also women and have shared their struggles. I’m glad that these conversations are happening and that they feel so real and I look forward to the future we move into as these conversations continue. I know not everyone feels that Marvel is the place for it and they have also been sharing their thoughts, and I will just say regardless people are talking about gender differences online because of this show and I think either way that is also a really huge win.

Lastly, I want to wrap up talking about Titiana. So she felt totally anti-climactic in her 5 seconds on the screen and this immediatly made me assume she no longer is the main villain. Taylor and I 100% explain this better in the full podcast episode, but since Titiana gets her powers in the comics from Dr. Doom, we’re thinking he might be at play here in this show. It would definitely be a worthwhile villain and would be a great way to start the rumbles of the Fantastic Four. In the comics, She-Hulk actually at one point is a member of the Fantastic Four and honestly we all know the MCU is not going to once again make another origin for those characters. Introducing Doom here would set the stage for the Fantastic Four film and make that pill easier to swallow by the time Secret Wars comes around. Since Doom has some dealings in the business world, I also wonder if his company is the company being discussed in the court case we saw at the end of the episode and Titiana was sent to disrupt it. This is just a little food for thought before we enter episode two of She-Hulk in two days and hopefully get maybe some more answers about Titiana.

As I said from the very start of this blog post, we are loving Jennifer Walters and are already here for more of her. We hope every single one of you enjoyed the first episode as well and are along for the journey with us. A quick reminder that our episodes are coming our Thursday rather than Wednesday during the She-Hulk era to give us enough time to record and edit everything for you. This also means you can expect the blog to come out a day later as well, but we are hoping this will only be a temporary change. Our September newsletter is going to be coming out next week, so if you aren’t signed up for that you can click here and subscribe! As always, stay up to date with the show episodes and with our podcast episodes as well, as Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.

She-Hulk Predictions

She-Hulk

It’s time to bleed green baby!

If you aren’t Philadelphia Eagles fans like us then that means you are here for She-Hulk time, which is coming at us a lot faster than you might think. A friendly reminder that She-Hulk will be a nine-week long show, with each show being around a half hour. We haven’t seen this break from formula since the very beginning with WandaVision (so aka before there was a formula) so it will be a really interesting twist to what we have been getting and personally a pretty needed one. I know I have talked before about how much content we are getting so I won’t go there now, but I think switching up from the usual 6-episode, 45 minute-1 hour long episodes is an excellent way to freshen everything up a bit. Also news that came out this week, She-Hulk is confirmed to have post-credit scenes in each episode; do whatever you wish with that information. As always, check out the full podcast episode by clicking the button below to find your listening platform of choice or listen live by hitting play on the link below.

Jennifer Walters looks like she is about to be so much freaking fun. For those who remember, I called She-Hulk as being my favorite show to come out this year, since I just love the Hulk family deep, deep down inside. There was a small piece of me that has always been intrigued by them as a kid, so here we are finally expanding this group. It looks like the trailers set us up with Jennifer to be fairly similar to how her character is written in the comics as far as traits and initial origin. She looks like she is going to be a boss at being a lawyer and a Hulk, so I think her future is looking really bright. Since we have the Fantastic Four and more Avengers films coming up, we may have quite a few options on where this show could set her up moving forward. I’m going to put money more on the Avengers, unless Bruce decides to stick around.

Before we move past Jennifer, I do want to point out the fourth wall breaks that she has. We can look at this two ways: one being that she is more like Deadpool, who is breaking the fourth wall as a sort of stick and the other is that we need to be a lot more aware of why the MCU keeps breaking the fourth wall. Phase 4 has been filled with these moments in which the fourth wall is being actively broken by characters, one of the best and latest examples being Wanda in MoM. This certainly could mean much more than we think, or something simple and therefore more for our entertainment. I think that the way it is done is leading us towards more of a humorous and entertaining bit to a show, but also good to theorize and remind everyone that outside of this show, there has still been a lot of breaking the fourth wall.

The one thing we don’t want to do is shy away from Jennifer, as it is her show, but there are a lot of people showing up in this show that have come from other places and need to be discussed. The main one of course is Bruce Banner, who is Jennifer’s cousin. We have gotten plenty of great footage already of the two interacting and being just the best of duos. But it brings up the question of where Bruce’s family has been and how connected he has been with them over the past years. We really haven’t gotten much mention of them before, so I’ll be really intrigued by the story we get as to why he is suddenly hanging out with Jennifer. We also have to talk about Bruce’s whereabouts since Endgame, as we have seen in the end credit scene of Shang-Chi in human form wearing a cast, yet now we have mainly seen him in the Smart Hulk form again fully healed. Maybe he needed to be in human form to be treated properly for his injuries, but I also hope we get a few more answers on this as well.

What does this Jennifer and Bruce team-up mean for the future? Is this the end for Bruce Banner and the start of She-Hulk? As I said earlier, preferably I’d love for us to be working towards the Hulk family, with Red Hulk on the horizon maybe and Abomination (which we will get to). But as Taylor pointed out in the podcast episode, Mark Ruffalo can and will only play Hulk for so long, so we might be getting a phase-in of one Hulk and the phase-out of another during this show. Since we know we are holding onto Thor and we haven’t gotten much definitive proof about Clint yet, I think we can’t completely write off that we might get the best of both worlds and have Hulk and She-Hulk at once. Or maybe all this is me being super positive when it totally might be it for Bruce. I just think the Hulk has been sort of shutdown since Infinity War and with him being such a good character, we need to see some more off the wall Hulk before seeing his character be written off.

Ironically, the next character we have to address in this show who is slightly less important than others is Daredevil. And trust me this isn’t me writing off Daredevil, there just happens to be two more characters that are appearing in this show that somehow are actually more important to talk about than Hulk and Daredevil. Either way, I’m really not surprised that Matt is appearing in this show, as She-Hulk is probably one of the closest characters to who he is on both the superhero spectrum and lawyer spectrum. They are definitely a duo that aren’t out of the ordinary and their interaction is going to be something else that’s for sure. I do wonder in what form they will meet, whether that is more the superhero spectrum or lawyer spectrum, or if they will play that Jennifer meets both sides of the same coin. I don’t think she will be trusted with knowing Matt’s identity for who he is, but wouldn’t be shocked if she interacts with both Matt and Daredevil. He might be pivotal in teaching her that being a superhero and a lawyer don’t exactly combine the way she thinks they will.

Wong and Abomination are both characters that have to be talked about sort of together and sort of apart. The last we saw both of them together was in Shang-Chi when they were fighting each other in the underground fight cage. Obviously, we have seen Wong since, most recently in MoM, and we have also since Shang-Chi gotten confirmation that he is the Sorceror Supreme. I think this news makes his interaction with Abomincation even more strange and also makes me wonder how close Shang-Chi is to She-Hulk in the official MCU timeline. Wong is definitely one that is more of a shock to have in this show just based off the premise, so I really do have to assume it relates to whatever relationship he has with Abomination. I would also probably be able to write more of this off if we didn’t now know he was Sorceror Supreme, but now he’s out here appearing everywhere and dropping the Book of Vishanti’s name.

As far as our favorite lizard man, I love that he’s back. Once again, Abomination is just one of those characters that deep down I have always really loved (for awhile he was my top champion in Contest of Champions). He isn’t too much of a surprise to be in a Hulk related show, but that means that his character is still very much in play for more things. I think he will end up in the now confirmed Thunderbolts and this show may help set that up, so keep an eye out for Valentina. I will just say out of all the characters that have been showing up again, I never thought that he would be one of them. Maybe now we can get a rematch of that battle of Harlem? Maybe? I mean it has been namedropped…

The final thing I’m going to talk about super briefly is Titania, who is supposed to be the main villain of this show. In the comics, she is very similar to She-Hulk in power and abilities, which is a storyline similar to Abomination and Hulk. This seems to hold true for the show, but otherwise we haven’t gotten much information on what she is going to be like or what is going to start the feud between the two of them, meaning this we will have to watch for.

We are super excited for what’s to come in She-Hulk, since she brings a little more of a Deadpool feel to the current MCU. As we spoke on briefly, we don’t have any full confirmation on where this lies in the MCU timeline and we are really hoping this is one show we will get some clarity with just because of the amount of cameos and characters that will have storylines furthered from this series alone. Either way, get ready to think green for the next 9 weeks as we are gong to have a fun time covering this final MCU show of the year. Keep up with all of the episodes airing on THURSDAYS and our podcast episodes that will be out now on SATURDAYS for the entirety of the She-Hulk series, since Marvel just blew your mind, so let’s talk about it.
